‘Seen it all before’ – Some Spurs fans react to midfielder’s social media post

Some Spurs fans on social media have reacted cynically to Dele Alli’s Instagram post showing him working out from home.

Alli has only started a single game since Antonio Conte arrived at Tottenham – the 2-1 loss to NS Mura in the Europa Conference League last month.

The 25-year-old faces an uphill task to force himself into Antonio Conte’s starting lineup, with the Italian having settled on his preferred midfield pairing of Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and a front three of Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min.

Two weeks ago, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold named Alli along with Harry Winks and Joe Rodon as three players who could potentially be on the move in January.

However, it has also been reported that the former MK Dons man has not given up on his Spurs career and is keen to resurrect his form under Conte.

With the first-team section of Hotspur Way being closed following an outbreak of COVID-19 at the club, the Spurs players had to train at home over the weekend.

Alli took to Instagram to post of a story of him being hard at work on a training bike but some fans were not buying it to say the least, with several calling for the midfielder to be sold in Janaury.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even if Spurs fans think Dele should be sold in January, I do not think it is fair to question the midfielder’s attitude.

The 25-year-old is always one of the hardest workers on the pitch when he gets an opportunity and he clearly wants to succeed at Tottenham.

I would not be disappointed if Conte decides to move Dele on in January but I am certainly hoping for the midfielder to succeed.
