James Maddison has posted a strongly worded message on social media about Tottenham’s poor second-half performance against Brighton.

Spurs left licking their wounds
After a terrific first-half performance, which saw them race to a 2-0 lead at half-time, the Tottenham players failed to turn up for the second half at the Amex Stadium.
They looked shell-shocked as Brighton continued flooding bodies forward and they conceded three goals in quick succession due to some poor lapses in concentration at the back.
The defeat served as a reality check for the North London side after winning their previous five fixtures in a row across all competitions.

Maddison’s message
Maddison has now taken to Instagram stories to admit that the second-half display from the team was ‘unacceptable’.
The Spurs vice-captain accepted responsibility for the poor showing and insisted that he and his teammates would use the defeat as fuel to get better.
Squad still together
By the looks of it, the squad is still very much together and it is refreshing to see both Postecoglou and Maddison put their hands up and accept responsibility.
Tottenham are not going to get to where they want to as a side without having these kinds of bumps along the road and it is crucial that they learn from these mistakes.
Based on the noises coming out of the Spurs camp, there is no reason to think they will not do that.
