The trio were absent from the 21-strong travelling party in Florence, as were Brad Friedel, Cristian Ceballos and DeAndre Yedlin.
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino plans to name a strong side for the second leg tie with the match in the balance at 1-1, despite the Capital One Cup final with Chelsea awaiting on Sunday.
