Serge Aurier blasts critics who accuse him of breaking lockdown rules in statement

Serge Aurier has taken to Instagram to respond to critics who accused him of breaking the UK Government’s lockdown rules this week.

The Spurs star posted a picture of him getting a haircut on Instagram yesterday. Various reports then implied that Aurier was not adhering to the lockdown protocols.

This was the second time in little over a month that the Ivory Coast international had been spotted apparently disobeying the rules after he posted a video of himself and Moussa Sissoko training in close proximately in April.

Tottenham are reportedly investigating the circumstances of Aurier’s latest Instagram post before deciding on an appropriate course of action (Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick).

However, the Ivory Coast international has now taken to Instagram to insist that he and his barber both tested negative for COVID-19.

The right-back also suggested that perhaps the media should concentrate more on wearing masks and gloves at the training ground rather than him getting his haircut.

Check out Aurier’s latest Instagram story as relayed by PA Sport Journalist Jonathan Viel:

Spurs Web Opinion

Someone at the club really should tell Aurier to stop posting everything on social media. He is making matters much worse with his response. While I don’t think he did much wrong by getting his hair cut, posting a picture on social media was beyond stupid.
