Serge Aurier responds to those spitting rumours after Olympiacos win

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled in defence ever since the start of the new season, with right-back being a particularly sore problem for Pochettino.

The Argentine fielded Kyle Walker-Peters, Moussa Sissoko, Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier, and Juan Foyth in the role, without having a clear favourite.

Aurier has had the position locked down recently, but put in questionable performances when giving away a penalty to Liverpool, getting sent off against Southampton, and being generally woeful against Bayern Munich.

However, the Ivorian has had the position on lockdown since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, and with good reason. Aurier has been superb!

Against West Ham, Serge was solid defensively and even set up Harry Kane’s header in the first half. Against Olympiacos, he added another assist and even scored one himself.

After scoring a delightful goal, some fans believed that Aurier could be seen spitting towards the supporters, perhaps even on purpose (GiveMeSport).
