Serge Aurier may have just seen his Nottingham Forest teammate Brennan Johnson leave the club, but he has taken to social media to reveal how happy he is that the youngster is joining his former club, Tottenham Hotspur.
After being released by Villarreal last summer, Aurier has found himself back in England with Nottingham Forest. The 30-year-old has done fairly well there, too, making 28 appearances for the Premier League side last year (Transfermarkt).
Aurier has seen many players come and go at the City Ground in his short stay there. Forest may be renowned for signing a plethora of players, but they recently lost a key man in the summer transfer window, too.
Brennan Johnson has made a good move
He may not be a Tottenham Hotspur player anymore, but Aurier clearly still holds a great affection for his former club years later. The Ivorian defender took to Instagram recently to wish Johnson well as he embarks on the next chapter of his career with Spurs.
Aurier said: “I will miss you, but I am happy that you are joining this big family. Take care of him and everyone will be fine, enjoy, bro.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It’s always nice to see former Spurs players still showing love for the club like this, and the fact it’s coming from a player who has just lost an important teammate says a lot.
Brennan Johnson appears to have been really well-respected and loved at Forest, and I think he will bring a great attitude to Spurs that will help him succeed.
