Sergio Reguilon reacts on social media after making Spurs debut in win over Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur debutant, Sergio Regulon has taken to social media to express his delight following the Lilywhites’ win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

The left-back was handed his Spurs debut by Jose Mourinho yesterday evening and he showed Tottenham fans a glimpse of what is to come as he was one of the home side’s main attacking outlets down the left flank.

The Spanish international was at fault for Chelsea’s opener as he gave the ball away and committed himself too early, allowing César Azpilicueta to get in-behind and pick out Timo Werner, who finished clinically.

The Lilywhites were second best in the first-half but looked a completely different team after the interval as they pressed Frank Lampard’s side high up the pitch.

Erik Lamela netted the equaliser with just minutes left on the clock and the Lilywhites came out as winners on penalties as they converted all five spot-kicks, with Mason Mount failing to score for Chelsea.

Here’s how Reguilon reacted after helping Spurs to book a place in the quarter-final:

Spurs Web Opinion

Reguilon almost seemed too eager to impress in the first half, which was perhaps why he made some unforced errors. However, I thought he grew into the game and finished very strongly. He certainly proved today that he has the tenacity and stamina to cope with the Premier League. Hopefully, he can build on this performance.
