Serie A giants want to lure Tottenham star by increasing his £75,000 wages

A Champions League club are expected to move full steam ahead in their pursuit of an experienced Tottenham Hotspur star.

A 29-year-old Spurs star, who is now into his third season at the club and has been a fixture in the side, is now starting to attract a lot of criticism.

Guglielmo Vicario’s role in Nottingham Forest’s first goal on Sunday was under the scanner, and that is hardly the first time the goalkeeper has been questioned this season.

Vicario was booed by Spurs fans for his mistake in Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Fulham last month, and there have been suggestions that the Spurs shot-stopper could be on his way to Inter Milan at the end of the season.

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario moves to ‘pole position’ on Inter Milan’s wishlist

A new report in L’Interista has now claimed that Vicario is now in ‘pole position’ to be the Nerazzurri’s next goalkeeper.

In order to lure him away from North London, Inter Milan are willing to offer the 29-year-old a pay rise on the salary he currently earns.

The Serie A club’s management believes that Vicario’s profile aligns with their requirements and that it is a deal they can afford.

The club’s CEO, Beppe Marotta, has been a big fan of the Spurs star for a long time, and he is confident that a move is possible.

In fact, it is alleged that Inter expect the Italy international to cost less than their other targets such as Elia Caprila, Mile Svilar and Marco Carnesecchi.

Spurs have started searching for Vicario’s replacements

Thomas Frank has continued to defend Vicario publicly, but that does not mean that the goalkeeper is in the club’s long-term plans.

In fact, it was reported by Football Insider a couple of days ago that Spurs have already begun scouring the market for Vicario’s replacement.

However, the update asserted that Tottenham Hotspur will not cash in on their number one in January and would only consider replacing him at the end of the campaign.
