‘Serious baller’ – Some Spurs fans react to reports of interest in German international

Some Tottenham fans on social media are excited by speculation linking the North London club with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus.

Neuhaus has gone from strength to strength over the past few years since breaking into the Gladbach side and has now established himself as one of the first names on Marco Rose’s teamsheet.

The central midfielder is having an impressive season, having already registered five goals and six assists so far this campaign.

Sport 1 claim that Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid are all interested in snapping up the 23-year-old at the end of the season.

However, it was revealed that Spurs could hold an advantage since Dortmund might not able to afford the midfielder, while the Gladbach star is not keen on a move to the Allianz Arena as he wants to play regular football.

The report also suggested that he Neuhaus has a release clause of around €40m (£35.5m) in his contract.

Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the rumours linking the German sensation with a move to the club:

If it is true that Neuhaus has a £35m release clause, then selling Dele Alli in the summer (who does not seem like he has a future under Mourinho) should be more than enough to fund a move for the Gladbach midfielder. I believe that Neuhaus would also be an upgrade over Winks. Having Hojbjerg, Skipp, Ndombele and Neuhaus as our four central midfield options (and Lo Celso) would be quite formidable.
