Sessegnon reveals the player he is closest to at Spurs after helping him settle

Ryan Sessegnon is starting to have more of an impact at the club in the last month after a slow start to his Spurs career.

He picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty with England Under-21s last summer which that his first few months at Tottenham didn’t go as planned.

However, since Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Spurs, the 19-year-old has got much more game time. He has played as a left back, a left wing back as well as a part of a front three under the Portuguese coach.

The youngster’s performances have been mixed but there are some signs that he is starting to settle into his new surroundings and a new way of playing.

The former Fulham star revealed that he now feels at home at the club and that Dele Alli, in particular, has been extremely helpful in helping him settle in his new surroundings since he arrived.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Sessegnon said: “As soon as I came in on the first day, Dele showed me around the whole building,”

“He showed me around everywhere, told me where everything was in the training ground and so, yes, he’s been a big help for me settling in.

“We don’t live too far from each other and we speak to each other a lot. We’re quite tight – he’s probably the player I’m closest to.

“Obviously everyone has been very helpful to me here, but Dele’s probably been one of the most supportive.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Having come to Tottenham as a teenager not knowing whether he is likely to get games, Dele has a lot in common with Sessegnon. The former Fulham man is quite a raw talent just as Dele was when he arrived and hopefully, the midfielder will ensure the youngster is doing all the right things.
