Yet another setback for King

2

Ledley King has suffered another set-back in his attempts to recover from his latest injury, with Harry redknapp confirming the defender is set to undergo another operation on his groin.

King has been plagued with injuries in recent years due to a chronic knee problem and has been out of action with a groin complaint since October.

Redknapp had hoped he might be able to call upon his skipper soon, especially with numerous problems in the centre of the Spurs defence.

Michael Dawson is suspended after his dismissal at Fulham, whilst Younes Kaboul and William Gallas are injured.

This means Jonathan Woodgate could be rushed back into action sooner than expected, after recently returning from a year-long absence with his own groin problem.

Harry Redknapp said; “Ledley will have an operation. He is nowhere near ready to play.”

  1. How long can we go on like this? Surely the time has come for Ledley to bow out gracefully. I admire his guts and determination for playing in his condition, possibly through the pain barrier. He has to remember he has the rest of his life to go through, carry on and he will suffer even more so down the years.
