Spurs summer signing attracting loan interest

The report discusses the future of Archie Gray, who is thought to be of interest to Sevilla ahead of the January transfer window.

It was reported recently by Mucho Deporte that the La Liga club had one loan slot available to fill in their squad and had set their sights on bringing the Tottenham man through the door.

It was explained that Sevilla’s current director of football Victor Orta was spearheading the pursuit, having previously worked with Gray at Leeds United.

Sevilla have given up on Archie Gray deal

However, Estadio Deportivo now claim that the Spurs teenager is no longer considered a realistic target for the Andalusian club.

It is explained that the Tottenham newcomer is expected to get plenty of game time under his belt over the rest of the season in North London, which is why Sevilla’s chances of getting him are low.

Further, it is pointed out that Spurs may not be willing to loan any of their talented young players to Seville following their poor treatment of Alejo Veliz last season.

Gray is an important squad player for Ange Postecoglou

Gray has already showcased his versatility for Spurs, having operated in four different positions so far this season. These appearances have come across the Premier League, Europa League, and League Cup.

His ability to cover for so many different roles makes him an invaluable squad player, which is why Postecoglou is unlikely to entertain the idea of allowing him to leave on loan.
