Jamie O’Hara has offered a blunt assessment of Gareth Bale’s current form compared to the player he previously knew.
O’Hara was a Tottenham player during the Welshman’s first stint in North London which saw him rise to prominence as one of the best young players in the world which earned him a move to Real Madrid.
The former midfielder took to Twitter after watching Spurs suffer a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Premier League strugglers Brighton.
The 34-year-old claimed that Bale always carried confidence within himself while the pair were at the club together and after watching him play against Brighton, claimed that he looks nothing like the player he once knew.
Bale was handed a rare start by Jose Mourinho in the absence of Harry Kane and the Real Madrid man failed to make any sort of impact on the proceedings at the Amex before he was brought off after 61 minutes and replaced by Lucas Moura.
I’ve played with Bale and he always had this inner confidence and self belief this kind of quiet arrogance, he seems a shadow of the player I knew #Bale
