Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino warned towards the end of the last season that the club will have to undergo a painful rebuild this summer (Evening Standard), and that is exactly how things are turning out.

While Tottenham are busy trying to get their targets in before the end of the transfer window, there is also a bit of deadwood that needs to be shipped out.

Janssen has failed to make an impact during the three seasons he has been at the club since moving from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2016.

It is claimed that the Dutch international is now closing in on a move to Mexican top-flight club, CF Monterrey (Football London).

Although Janssen hasn’t shined during his time in North London, some Spurs fans have taken to the Dutchman during his time at the club.

While some fans were disappointed that it didn’t work out at Spurs for the 25-year-old, others were relieved to see the back of him.

Spurs Web Opinion

We at Spurs Web actually believe that Janssen wasn’t too bad in his debut season at the club and showed decent potential, particularly with his hold up play. However, it is clear that Pochettino made up his mind about the striker a while ago and that he never really had a future with the club.
