Sheffield manager accuses Spurs star of diving in Premier League clash

Tottenham Hotspur dropped another two points at home in the Premier League yesterday, this time to newly-promoted Sheffield United.

Spurs were outplayed for the vast majority of the game by the high-flying Blades, who sat sixth in the table before the game kicked off.

For the third Premier League game in a row, Spurs actually took the lead against their opponents before throwing it away to drop points.

Spurs were one up against the league leaders Liverpool at Anfield after just one minute, before conceding two to lose the game 2-1.

The Lilywhites then travelled to Everton and took the lead there, before Heung Min Son was harshly sent off for a challenge on Andre Gomes, and the Toffees equalised late on.

Against Sheffield, Sonny managed to grab a goal against the run of play, continuing his personal fine form, before the Blades hit back to level at 1-1.

Sheffield manager, Chris Wilder, has now claimed that Son dived against his side.

He said (BBC Sheffield): “Son – he made a big effort to go for a penalty, didn’t he? I don’t want my team to feel any contact and go down. I’m going to stick with that. If any of my players starting diving about they’ll be told and they might not get a shirt.”
