Former Tottenham boss, Tim Sherwood has claimed that Harry Kane was frustrated with Sergio Reguilon on Friday after the left-back gave away a sloppy penalty.
Kane had just given Spurs the lead after clinically bringing down and finishing a chance in the Everton box.
However, moments later, Reguilon went into the back of James Rodriguez in the Spurs box and Michael Oliver pointed straight to the spot before Gylfi Sigurdsson slotted it home.
Everton later took the lead in the match through the former Spurs man once again, before Harry Kane equalised with a thumping finish into the top corner.
Unfortunately, the Lilywhites were unable to create much more after that and Kane eventually went off injured after going down clutching his ankle.
Sherwood claimed that Kane was frustrated with Reguilon after the challenge while adding that the Spaniard is the same as every Spurs fullback, better going forward than at defending.
He said (Optus Sport on Premier League Productions): “He’s (Kane) frustrated.
“I mean, it was a poor decision from Reguilon. Unfortunately, it’s like most of the wide defending players Tottenham have, they are always better going forward.
“Defensively, they leave a lot to be desired and that was a rash decision there. Jose is having a word with him going in. I am not sure it was about that incident.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
I can imagine that Kane and Son have been frustrated all season. Their goal returns should be launching Spurs towards a title push, but the defence have been letting them down. There must come a point where they ask themselves, ‘what more can we do?’
