A shocking stat shows just how far behind the current Tottenham team is compared to the force they were under Mauricio Pochettino.
While Spurs may have failed to win silverware under Pochettino, the supporters understandably look at those five-and-a-half years as golden years for the club.
The Lilywhites played some exciting, aggressive football, the fans had a great connection with the squad and the coaching staff, and came close to winning both the Premier League and Champions League.
Tottenham are a long way from hitting those heights now, and one stat shows just how big a blunder it was for the North Londoners to sack Pochettino.

Tottenham’s shocking loss record over the last 99 games
In his first press conference as Tottenham boss, Thomas Frank said he wants Spurs to compete on all four fronts, pointing out that it has not happened since 2019.
However, the numbers suggest that the Lilywhites are as far away from hitting those heights as they have ever been.
The Sun journalist Jake Saunders has now revealed on social media that Tottenham have lost 44 of their last 99 Premier League games. In comparison, they lost just 46 games of the 202 that Pochettino oversaw.
In other words, Spurs have been losing twice as often over the last few years as they did under the Argentine coach.
Spurs have lacked a coherent long-term strategy
With hindsight, while it is understandable why the club went for ‘winners’ like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, we can conclude they got many of their managerial appointments wrong.
It appears as if the decision-makers have been reactionary and swinging from one extreme style to another.
The squad struggled to adapt when they went from Pochettino’s high-intensity tactics to Mourinho’s defensive methods, and Tottenham made a similar mistake when they went from Antonio Conte to Ange Postecoglou.
While it is still early days for Thomas Frank, it appears that the club have made the same error again, with the players not finding it easy to adapt to Frank’s tactics.
