Shocking Richarlison vs Dominic Solanke goal stat poses a big Tottenham question

A comparison of underlying stats for Richarlison and Dominic Solanke shows that the Brazilian forward has been more effective than the Englishman at Tottenham in 2025.

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled this season in so many ways, and one of their biggest issues has been an injury crisis that at one point wiped out 12 first-team players.

Among those to suffer a lengthy spell on the sidelines is Richarlison. The Brazilian forward has missed 37 games this season through injury — a brutal blow, considering his promising potential as a player.

Dominic Solanke, who’s currently Tottenham’s first-choice striker, has also had his fair share of injury setbacks, missing 13 games so far this campaign.

Richarlison vs Solanke: Tottenham stat comparison tells its own story

Both players are now back to full fitness and were involved in Tottenham’s most recent Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Solanke, who has featured in Tottenham’s last ten matches, started from the off but failed to find the net once again. His latest blank means the forward’s goal drought drags on.

In fact, he is now without a goal in his last eleven appearances, with his last strike coming on 4 January 2025— the first game of the calendar year.

When compared with Richarlison — who has missed a bigger chunk of the season — the numbers begin to tell a different story.

Richarlison has notched three goals in that same period, despite playing significantly fewer minutes for Tottenham, with his third goal coming against Wolves after he came on for Solanke.

Dominic Solanke posseses huge quality despite dip in numbers

Of course, plenty of Spurs fans would rightly point out that Solanke offers much more to the team with his pressing, tireless running, and ability to link play.

That’s fair enough. But these numbers are concerning for a striker who scored close to 20 goals last season for Bournemouth before making the move to N17.

While his 2025 return has been underwhelming, his overall season still reflects a player with real quality — he’s on 11 goals and eight assists so far, just one away from hitting 20 goal involvements across all competitions for Spurs.
