Tottenham Hotspur loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers has been slammed on social media by some Stoke City fans for his performance in the 1-0 defeat to Cardiff on Tuesday night.
The centre half left Spurs in the summer for Stoke City on a season-long loan and it was expected that he would help them fight for promotion.
However, Carter-Vickers as well as the rest of the Stoke team, have been poor so far this campaign and find themselves in the relegation zone.
The Spurs defender has been in and out of the Stoke first-team so far this season, but new Stoke manager Nathan Jones decided to start the 21-year-old at right-back against Cardiff which proved to be a terrible decision.
The Tottenham academy graduate seemingly struggled on Tuesday with some Stoke fans taking to social media to voice their displeasure at his performance. A few even demanded that he be sent back to Spurs immediately.
Carter-Vickers needs to go back …. sorry

Carter Vickers is crap

If Joe Gomez can’t play right back, what makes our management team think that Cameron Carter Vickers can… ??♂️ #levels @stokecity https://t.co/rT3IqYOs5w

Shockingly poor performance. Looked poor without an outball in McClean. Didn’t have a clue what to do with it. Would of been perfect game for Edwards. The amount of times Carter Vickers got in to crossing positions and just passed backwards is a joke.

At least we know that Carter Vickers will be the one making the mistakes as we concede.

Spurs Web Opinion
In fairness, right-back has never been his position and one cannot judge his performances when he is playing in a side as poor as Stoke are right now. However, it is clear that any hopes of him making the Spurs first team are long gone. A move to a decent Championship club looks like the best the 21-year-old can now hope for.
