Dimitar Berbatov believes Tottenham Hotspur should be challenging for the Premier League title with the squad they now have.
Spurs could go top of the table with a win against West Bromwich Albion this Sunday, with Leicester City and Liverpool not in action until later in the evening.
The North Londoners have a real chance to pile the pressure onto their rivals before they kick off but Jose Mourinho admitted that he expects a difficult game at The Hawthorns and that it will be tough to come away with all three points (Sky Sports).
Slaven Bilic’s side have not had the start to the top-flight campaign they would have hoped after winning promotion last season as they currently sit in the drop zone with just three points from seven games.
However, as Tottenham found out against Burnley a couple of weeks ago, that does not guarantee an easy Sunday afternoon.
Despite this, Berbatov expects Mourinho’s men to ease past West Brom this weekend.
Speaking to The Metro, the former Tottenham striker said: “Same for West Brom as Fulham, it’s an uphill battle this season.
“Spurs are coming into this game after good result in Bulgaria, and by all rights Spurs have a squad that should challenge for the title.
“They can win this too. Prediction: 1-3”
