Several Tottenham stars took to social media to convey their delight at managing to come away from Turf Moor with all three points last night.
Jose Mourinho knew that his players were in for a tough game at Burnley despite the Clarets’ poor start to the season, and that is exactly how it turned out.
The home side were extremely well organised and denied the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son any space to exploit.
However, the duo did make their mark, with the breakthrough eventually coming from a corner-kick as Kane flicked one on for Son to head home from close range.
Meanwhile, Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood were a handful for the Tottenham defence throughout the ninety minutes.
However, Tottenham’s backline, as well as Moussa Sissoko and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who were shielding the back four, coped extremely well with Burnley’s long-balls.
Kane, Hojbjerg, Toby Alderweireld and Lucas Moura took to Twitter after the win to praise the team’s effort and commitment.
Anything that makes Sonny smile is a good thing! 😁 Proper battling win that. Great result on the road 💪 #COYS pic.twitter.com/91JfL5dDQA

Spurs Web Opinion
The main criticism levelled at the Spurs defence in the first few games of the season was our inability to defend balls into the box. There could have thus been no bigger test than Burnley given the aerial threat that they pose from set-pieces but we coped admirably with what they threw at us and proved many of our critics wrong.
