‘Sign of the times’ – Jose Mourinho pokes fun at his Spurs squad after Burnley win

Jose Mourinho has taken to social media to share a picture of his players on their phones in the dressing room after Tottenham’s hard-fought win at Turf Moor last night.

As expected, the home side defended deep with men behind the ball and played directly to Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood throughout the 90 minutes.

Spurs coped admirably with the balls into the box and restricted the home side mostly to speculative efforts for the majority of the encounter.

However, the Lilywhites also had trouble creating chances themselves, with the breakthrough eventually coming from a corner.

With less than 15 minutes of normal time left on the clock, Harry Kane flicked on an Erik Lamela corner kick and Son Heung-min finished it off at the far post with a well-placed header of his own.

Mourinho’s men then managed the rest of the game very well in stark contrast to their performance against West Ham last Sunday.

The Spurs boss admitted that he was delighted with the character his players showed to come away with all three points.

However, from his Instagram post, it appears that he was not as pleased with how his players celebrated the win.

Mourinho posted the following picture with the caption: “After a great victory in a really hard match… Sign of the times. Well done boys. #COYS”
