Sigurdsson a done deal

Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is expecting to complete a deal to Tottenham Hotspur in the next 24 hours.

The 22-year-old who spent last season on loan at Swansea City will become Andre Villa-Boas’ first signing as Spurs boss.

Former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers was keen on bringing Sigurdsson to his new club Liverpool, but Spurs have won the race. Is this a sign that Modric is on the verge of leaving the Lane?

According to Sky Sports, a fee between both clubs (said to be around £9m) has already been agreed and the player has even agreed personal terms and passed a medical.

It looks as if it’s a ‘done deal’.

  1. Why try and be '1st' with something that's not true. Rubbish reporting. Come back when you have the facts…

  2. Most Spurs fans seem desperate for Vertonghen to sign, but if he is that good why do we seem to be the only club bidding to sign him?, and has anyone seen him play regularly for Ajax and Belgium?

    • I remember we were the only one who bided for berbatov, modric, bale, van der vart, carrick and the list goes on look at them now… secondly arsenal tried to bid for him but he wanted spurs so why would any other club bid if he said openly he wants to join spurs… dnt worry i'm sure his better than gallas and king

  3. Until he is photographed standing with a Tottenham scarf held aloft, or wearing a Spurs shirt, it is no more "done" than my dinner! Are we to expect NO players will be unveiled before the new strip (this annual circus…) late NEXT week?

  4. Vertonghen is one of the best central defenders in the world, a huge upgrade from anybody currently at WHL. The reason nobody else is bidding on him is because he told them point blank, repeatedly, that he wants to play for us. Sigurdsson is a bit of a gamble, but he's also young and fits right into the kind of game AVB preaches. I think they're great targets.
