Sissoko says ‘time will tell’ on a return to France

Moussa Sissoko has refused to rule out a return move to France in the future, after his Tottenham career has stuttered and spluttered along since his arrival from Newcastle.

The Frenchman returned to the Spurs starting line up for the opening game of the season, a win away to Newcastle, but he remains on the fringes of Pochettino’s first team.

He arrived at the club for a frustratingly high £30m in the summer of 2016, after impressing for France on the international stage.

Since then, Sissoko has appeared 82 times for the Lilywhites, only managing two goals and a handful of standout performances.

After 192 games in Frances top flight league for Toulouse, a fan on Instagram asked the midfielder whether he would ever return to Ligue 1.

Sissoko proceeded to reply, ‘Only time will tell’.

Could we be seeing the last of Moussa Sissoko in a Spurs shirt this season, and will fans mind seeing him leave?

The Frenchman is currently on just under £100,000 a week at Tottenham, far higher than some of the fan favourites at the club, which is a source of much frustration among the Spurs faithful.

Sissoko has been linked to a Spurs exit numerous times in the past two years, but could his time finally be up in North London?
