“He can’t just sit on the bench the whole time”

Spurs defender Bongani Khumalo is likely to go out on loan this season.

Khumalo spent time on loan at Preston towards the end of last season and has been linked with Glasgow Rangers and Bristol City.

“Possibly Bongani could go out as he needs experience,” Redknapp said. “Look, it’s a new way of life for him in England, and this will be his first full season here.

“Several clubs have made enquiries about signing him on loan. And he needs to play … he can’t just sit on the bench the whole time. He’s not going to be starting, so the best option is for him to go on loan and get some experience.”
