Six Spurs stars named in England squad for Nations League finals

Tottenham Hotspur may have an upcoming Champions League final to think about, but that will not be the end to their England contingent’s season.

Spurs are set to face Liverpool on June 1 in Madrid for the Champions League, but six Tottenham stars have also been named in the preliminary England squad for the Nations League Finals.

Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Kieran Trippier, and Danny Rose have all been included in the 27-man squad, but this will be whittled down to 23 before the trip to Portugal (Tottenham).

England are scheduled to play the Netherlands in the semi-final of the competition on June 6, before playing in either the final or third place play-off just three days later.

After a long Premier League season and just a handful of days after the Champions League final, it is far from ideal for Pochettino to have so many of his stars in competitive action again.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham have been struggling with injuries throughout this season, an issue that stemmed from so many playing a large number of games in the 2018 World Cup. It seems as if the season will now end as it started, with the Spurs lads being put at risk in international tournaments. While internationals are what it’s all about for many professionals, it could prove to be a huge problem for Tottenham if any extra injuries occur.
