Six Tottenham players are set to leave Hotspur Way at the end of June, with their contracts set to expire ahead of the summer window.
With the 2024/25 season now over, Tottenham Hotspur’s attention is set to turn to matters off the pitch as they look to prepare for the 2025/26 campaign.
Tottenham did finish the previous season on a high, securing UEFA Champions League football after winning the Europa League, despite finishing 17th in the Premier League table.
Ange Postecoglou’s future remains up in the air because of his mixed season that has seen him end the campaign with silverware, ending Tottenham’s 17-year-long wait for a trophy, but he has also overseen the worst-ever league season in the club’s history.
While the club weighs up their decision regarding the manager, a few other players have their contracts set to expire in the next month, and we have highlighted them below:

Timo Werner expected to return to RB Leipzig
It just did not work out for Timo Werner at Tottenham Hotspur in what was his second loan spell at Hotspur Way.
The German international did not get as much game time as he would have liked, and that speaks volumes given Tottenham’s injury crisis during this spell.
Werner played a rather disappointing 946 minutes of football this season, scoring a single goal while assisting three times.
When he signed for Tottenham, he stated that he came to win trophies and following his one and a half years at N17, the RB Leipzig man has delivered on that.
Werner’s recent social media post all but confirms that his time at Spurs is over, and with reports suggesting that Tottenham would not be making Werner’s loan move permanent, the German, whose contract would end on 30 June, could well be headed out the door.
Mathys Tel’s future is still undecided
Another player whose contract at Tottenham is still undecided is Mathys Tel, who joined on loan from Bayern Munich during the winter window.
The 19-year-old has impressed but did not light up the Premier League in the last six months, although he was a very solid squad option who grew into his role with each passing game.
Tottenham have a decision to make on Tel, whether to extend his stay and take up the £46 million option to buy him this summer.
If they do not, the 19-year-old forward would be heading back to Germany, after scoring three goals and grabbing an assist in 20 appearances in the Lilywhites of Tottenham.
Sergio Reguilon set to move on a free transfer
Sergio Reguilon is one player whose future at Tottenham was long decided even before a ball was kicked last season.
The defender was outcasted, but given Tottenham’s injury crisis this campaign, he has appeared a few times for the Lilywhites.
Reguilon’s current deal at Spurs is set to expire on 30 June and it is looking very unlikely that Tottenham would offer him a new contract. With the player soon to become a free agent, he would be able to decide where he plays his football next season.
Ben Davies could have played his last game for Tottenham
Tottenham’s Mr Reliable could have kicked a ball for the last time in a Tottenham shirt in the club’s final Premier League clash against Brighton, where he came on for Micky van de Ven.
Ben Davies has spent over a decade at N17 and with his contract set to expire this summer, it is very unlikely that Tottenham would extend his stay.
It was reported earlier this month that Tottenham are unlikely to extend Davies’ contract, while Spurs also continue to be linked with defensive options including Marc Guehi. Davies has been a top performer and a great professional who gave his all each time he put on a Tottenham shirt.

Fraser Forster’s future is sealed
Fraser Forster’s future seemed like it had been long sealed after the club brought in Antonin Kinsky back in January. Since then, we have seen less of the England international in goal or even in the matchday squad.
Forster is well into his thirties, 37 to be precise, and given the club’s philosophy and the addition of Kinsky, it is very unlikely he is offered a new deal, with his current one set to expire on 30 June.
Alfie Whiteman never got going for Tottenham
Another goalkeeper is on the list of players whose contract would be due come 30 June, and this time it is Alfie Whiteman, who has been at Tottenham since 2017 and has featured just once for the senior team throughout his time at N17.
The writing is surely on the wall for the 26-year-old who is very unlikely to get a new deal at the club, as they look to freshen up their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
