Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth thinks Tottenham will be keeping a close eye on the developments over Conor Gallagher’s future as we head into the final two weeks of the transfer window.

Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid
Until the start of this week, it seemed only a matter of time before Gallagher’s capture was announced by Atletico Madrid after the La Liga club agreed a deal worth £34m with Chelsea for the midfielder.
However, the midfielder’s proposed move to the Spanish capital has collapsed over recent days, with the player now back training at Chelsea (BBC Sport).
This has potentially given Tottenham and others a lifeline, with CaughtOffside (via Football Transfers) even claiming a few days ago that the Blues are now offering the 24-year-old to clubs in the Premier League.

Spurs will likely keep an eye on Conor Gallagher
Sheth is not in any doubt that the likes of Spurs will be having an eye on Gallagher’s situation, but he pointed out that selling the player to a direct rival is a situation that the West London side were hoping to avoid.
When asked if Spurs and Villa would go back in for the England international, the Sky journalist told GiveMeSport: “I’m sure they will be keeping an eye on this situation, and that would be the second-worst-case scenario for Chelsea.
“The way that they orchestrated this deal was that they offered him a two-year contract, which effectively is telling him that we want to sell you.
“And then, not only that, but they effectively chose the club that he was going to, which was Atletico Madrid – a club outside of the Premier League.
“They didn’t want him to go to a Premier League rival. Now that he is not going there, are Chelsea going to have to entertain potential deals from clubs in the Premier League?”
Spurs Web Opinion
Postecoglou has made it pretty clear that he only wants players who are very keen to come to Spurs.
With Gallagher having seemingly picked Atletico over Tottenham, the Australian might have changed his mind about wanting to bring the Chelsea man on board.
