Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, according to Sky sources.
Spurs scouts have apparently been watching the midfield man regularly this season, and are impressed with his performances at club level.
The 23-year-old has over two and a half years left on his current contract in Germany, but is thought to have an affordable £18m release clause.
Grillitsch is thought to be a name high up on the list of potential Mousa Dembele successors, as the Belgian looks set to leave for China this month.
Central midfield is the one position Spurs are in need of strengthening at the moment, as Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko have been forced to hold down the fort all on their own over the congested festive period.
Some extra man-power in the midfield could be all the difference on the run in this season, with Spurs fighting on four fronts for trophies.
