Sky Sports journalist claims Spurs man ‘110%’ needs to leave in January

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has claimed Dele Alli should look to leave Tottenham on loan in January.

The 25-year-old has seen his minutes come sporadically since September and has played just 19 minutes of Premier League action in that time.

Alli appeared to be integral to Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans in the first six games of the campaign, but saw his fortunes quickly reversed in Tottenham’s encounter against Arsenal after being hauled off at half-time in the defeat.

The midfielder has not seen much action since the arrival of Antonio Conte either and has been left as an unused substitute in Spurs’ latest wins against Brentford and Norwich respectively.

The two-time PFA Young Player of the Year winner is a long way away from making the England squad ahead of next year’s World Cup in Qatar, and Bridge feels Alli would benefit with a move away from Spurs to refresh his game.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Bridge admitted: “110% in January he [Alli] needs to go out on loan.”

The progression of Alli stopped a while ago and it looks like it has reached a point where a move away from Spurs would do him the world of good. He looks like a shadow of the player that joined the club six years ago and it’s sad to see his obvious talent completely fall off a cliff.
