Sky Sports journalist claims what Spurs are doing about their striker situation this month

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has provided an update on Tottenham’s reported hunt for a striker this month.

He revealed that Spurs were looking to get a striker in on loan and that AC Milan Krzysztof Piatek is the one option which they remain keen on.

Reports over the past few weeks have claimed that the club are keen on bringing in a striker to help cope with the loss of Harry Kane, who is set to be out of action until at least April after undergoing surgery to repair his left hamstring tear (the Guardian).

Piatek has been one of the names linked heavily with the club, along with the likes of Lyon’s Moussa Dembele and PSG’s Edinson Cavani (The Independent).

Thomas has now revealed that it is the Milan striker who is still in the sights of the Champions League finalists during the transfer window as they attempt to complete a loan deal before the end of the month.

Here’s how he responded on social media when a Spurs fan asked him about the club’s pursuit of a striker:

I believed we have lacked a plan B since Llorente left in the summer and we needed to sign a centre forward in January even if Kane hadn’t picked up an injury. If it is true that the club is pursuing a loan deal, then perhaps they have decided to find a temporary solution for now and reassess the striker situation in the summer.
