Sky Sports pundit warns Spurs that Pochettino could make a deadly switch

There was a lot of optimism around Tottenham Hotspur coming into the season following the team’s Champions League heroics last campaign as well as the impressive additions to the squad during the summer.

However, the performances to date from the Lilywhites have been extremely poor on the whole and the club now appears to be in a state of crisis.

The Spurs players, as well as Mauricio Pochettino, have come in for heavy criticism especially after the recent defeats to Bayern Munich and Brighton.

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has warned Tottenham that if the crisis goes on for any longer, they risk losing Pochettino to Manchester United.

United are arguably in even worse shape than Spurs at the moment but Nicholas insisted that the Argentine could make the switch from North London to Manchester. He also named the early season collapse at Tottenham as his biggest surprise of the campaign so far.

Nicholas told Sporting Life: “The whole collapse of Tottenham has been the biggest surprise of the season for me.

“If this continues, while the Man Utd situation is ongoing, Pochettino could make that deadly switch. We know Sir Alex Ferguson is a big fan of the Tottenham manager, and United cannot afford to get it wrong again.

“The fallout at Tottenham is the biggest surprise for me.”

Despite the team’s poor showings off late, there is no indication yet that Daniel Levy is considering a managerial change or that Mauricio Pochettino is planning on walking out of the club. I believe the Argentine will stay at the club and help the club come through this difficult transition phase.
