Sky Sports report whether Harry Kane is expected to start for England vs Wales

Sky Sports have reported, via Rob Dorsett in Qatar, that Harry Kane is not expected to be rested by Gareth Southgate this evening against Wales.

Kane has started both of England’s group stage matches so far against Iran and the USA, but has not yet found the back of the net and seemed to pick up a foot injury in the World Cup opener.

However, with the Three Lions almost guaranteed a path through to the knockout stages this evening, unless they suffer a heavy defeat, it appears Southgate will not take the chance to rest his star striker.

Rob Dorsett has reported that Harry Kane is expected to lead the line for England vs Wales, while Southgate will make four changes to the starting XI around the Tottenham striker.

Jordan Henderson, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden, and Marcus Rashford are expected to start the match in Qatar this evening, with Harry Kane remaining in the line-up (Rob Dorsett).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Perhaps if Kane had a couple of goals already this tournament, Southgate may have been tempted to rest him. But England will want their main man off the mark if possible this evening, and there has never been a manager brave enough to regularly bench Harry Kane.
