Tottenham have opened talks with Inter Milan to try and sign defender Alessandro Bastoni, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
Spurs are thought to be in the market for a new left-sided centre-back this summer after listening to the requests of head coach Antonio Conte (The Telegraph).
The club has since been linked with a £51 million deal for Bastoni, who could be offloaded by Inter to finance their own transfer plans over the off-season (Football.London).
And Spurs appear to be getting the ball rolling on securing a transfer for the Italy international, with Sheth now reporting the North London club are in talks with Inter about a deal.
The reporter notes Conte and managing director Fabio Paratici are keen on completing the majority of their transfer business early before pre-season arrives.

Bastoni featured prominently under Conte at Inter when they romped to the Serie A title in the 2020-21 campaign.
The 23-year-old made 44 appearances across all competitions last season as the Nerazzurri finished runners-up in the division to arch-rivals AC Milan (Transfermarkt).
Spurs Web Opinion
Tottenham will need to sound out as much information as possible as early as they can to avoid leaving a deal too late and missing out on him altogether.
He is expected to cost quite a hefty amount but Spurs will likely do what they can to try and drive the price down to something that suits both parties.
