Sky Sports reporting new twist in the Pedro Porro to Tottenham transfer saga

Sky Sports are reporting in a new twist of events that Sporting CP are still not keen to sell Pedro Porro before the January transfer window shuts on Tuesday night.

Tottenham’s pursuit of the right wing-back has taken many twists and turns over the past few weeks with the north Londoners having been in negotiations with their Sporting counterparts since yesterday in Lisbon (Fabrizio Romano).

Sky have now provided an update via their live transfer centre (12:03) suggesting that the Premier League club are growing frustrated with how Sporting are dragging out the negotiations despite Tottenham’s willingness to meet their financial demands of Porro’s £39m (€45m) transfer release clause.

Fabrizio Romano had earlier today suggested that the two clubs were finalising the last few details of the transfer and it could be completed soon, however, Sky’s update has given Spurs fans some cause for concern.

This deal is taking up significant time when Tottenham need to be moving on to focusing on a new attacking midfielder and a central defender at the very least before the window slams shut.

Sporting are probably aware that at this late stage in the window, they are able to dig in their heels as much as possible to get Tottenham to commit to their terms.
