SkySports pundit predicts Spurs could get this manager sacked

Tottenham Hotspur are in fine form of late, and now find themselves as the outsiders in a three horse race for the title.

Spurs have won their last four Premier League matches, including a 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Sunday.

Late wins against Fulham, Watford, and Newcastle all also helped propel Spurs up to just five points off the League leaders.

Tottenham will have to hope for their title rivals Liverpool and City to drop points, but they also have the chance to claw back some points themselves, as they play both sides away from home between now and the end of the season.

Spurs also face Chelsea away, in a match that may be pivotal for more than one reason.

Three points could help Spurs in the title race, but it could also condemn Chelsea to a Champions League free season next year.

Jamie Carragher believes a loss against Spurs could be the final nail in the coffin for Maurizio Sarri.

He said (SkySports as reported by Daily Star): “I would like to see them stick with him and not make this change, certainly in the middle of the season.

“But unfortunately we know that these next fixtures, because of Chelsea’s history, you would imagine could be vital to whether Sarri gets the chance [to carry on].

“I actually think Chelsea, and not just Chelsea but a lot of the clubs now, the top four is everything, getting into the Champions League, even sometimes more than a cup final.

“I actually think the Tottenham game is huge as opposed to the others.

“I think if he lost a couple of the others it wouldn’t be the end of the world for him.

“I think the Tottenham game, I think as soon as Chelsea’s hierarchy feel they could miss out on the top four, that’s when they may make that change.

“We see teams at the bottom sort of throw the dice at the end of the season: ‘we’re going to get relegated, it’s worth the risk’.
