‘Slows everything down’ – Ex-Spurs man blasts £54m star for NLD display

Jamie O’Hara has blasted Tanguy Ndombele for his performance in the North London derby, insisting the Frenchman slowed everything down for the away side.

After failing to get a move away from Spurs during the summer transfer window, Ndombele has forced himself into Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting eleven over the last couple of weeks.

The Frenchman was impressive in the first half against Chelsea last Sunday before tailing off towards the end of the encounter while he also put in another promising display in the win over Wolves on Wednesday.

So, it did not come as a surprise to see the 24-year-old starting at the Emirates on Sunday but he was one of several Spurs stars who were sluggish on the day, with the Gunners easing to a 3-1 win in the end.

The away side looked much more lively when Bryan Gil replaced Ndombele, who Spurs signed from Lyon for £54m, in the 70th minute.

O’Hara not only called for Nuno to take Ndombele off during the game but the former Spurs star also accused the midfielder of not putting in the required effort.

We know that Ndombele has these types of performances in him, especially away from home. However, it would be harsh to just blame the Frenchman as I thought his midfield partners, Dele Alli and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg were just as poor.
