‘So convinced’ – Fabio Paratici pleased with impact of summer signing

Tottenham Hotspur managing director of football Fabio Paratici has admitted that he has been left ‘so convinced’ by Richarlison’s start to life in north London.

The Brazilian joined Tottenham in early July in a deal worth £60million with the striker signing a five-year contract (Sky Sports).

Richarlison made his first appearance for Spurs from the bench during the match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and made a key impact in the match in helping his side earn a late 2-2 draw (transfermarkt).

He has also provided two assists in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest and Wolves, respectively. However, it was his performance during his Champions League debut in midweek against Marseille in which he put in his best display, scoring both goals in the 2-0 victory over the French outfit.

Paratici praised the tenacious character of the 25-year-old while also acknowledging his ability to play in each of the three positions in Spurs’ attack.

The Italian told the club’s official video channel: “We are so convinced by him so far. Because this kind of style of football I think perfect for us. Not just technically speaking, but about character.

“He’s a fighter he has big energy, he can play in three positions in the forward line. He has great experience in the Premier League and in the national team in Brazil,”

Tottenham have lacked competition for places and most importantly, cover for Harry Kane for a number of seasons and it is refreshing to see there is no longer a heavy reliance on Kane or Heung-min Son to put the ball in the back of the net.
