Some Tottenham fans on social media were not happy to see a lack of enthusiasm from Steven Bergiwjn and Matt Doherty when Antonio Conte embraced them at full-time.
Tottenham managed to come back from a goal down to win 2-1 against Leeds on Sunday courtesy of second-half goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilon.
Conte was understandably delighted to win his first home Premier League game as Spurs boss.
The Italian celebrated with the kind of passion one has come to expect of him over the years and he embraced each and every player and staff member after the final whistle.
While most of the players reciprocated Conte’s enthusiasm, some fans picked up on the fact that Berwijn’s and Doherty’s reactions were muted.
Some suggested that the 52-year-old would have picked on both players’ attitudes, with a few even remarking that the winger and the right-back could be on their way out of the club in January.
Don't look like Stevie did there 🤣

He’ll have noted Bergwijn reaction to us winning as well. https://t.co/XfLDF3ZMTa

Bergwijn always looks pissed off when he’s not playing but I’m sure the £100k he’s on a week softens the blow

Honestly so embarrassing for them. They’ve been given their chances to get into our lineup. If Bergwijn could finish we probably would’ve gotten top 4 last season. Couple good games on int’l duty & you expect Conte to get on his knees? Wanks, hope they’re both gone in January.

Conte is finding out about all the players if these two are not happy oh well the better players always start they know what they need to do

Good bye then. We need players all in all the time not just when they are on the pitch

Doherty career at spurs is over. Tanganga at right back and emerson just ahead is the best now.

Spurs Web Opinion
This is a bit of an overreaction from Spurs fans. Not all players are equally expressive in their body language and it is only natural for top-level professionals to feel a little bit disappointed when a new manager leaves them out of the starting eleven.
