“So it begins” – Some Spurs fans are disappointed by club update

Having taken four points off their first two Premier League matches of the season, Spurs will now welcome Newcastle United to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday.

The Lilywhites go into the game as heavy favourites with Newcastle having lost both the games they have played against Arsenal and Norwich City.

Tottenham will be expected to be on the front foot for most of the game after being forced to defend really deep for almost the entirety of the match at the Etihad.

However, the club have delivered a negative update regarding the fitness of new signing Tanguy Ndombele.

The midfielder, who scored in his Premier League debut against Villa, is said to have picked up a minor thigh injury in training that has ruled him out of the match against Newcastle.

While some Spurs were left extremely disheartened by the news, others questioned if the injury was really minor or if the club was trying to appease fans by holding back the truth.

Here’s how some fans reacted on social media:

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs have been extremely unlucky with injuries to key players over the last couple of seasons. If Pochettino’s team wish to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool, then key players need to stay fit for the majority of the season. Let’s hope the Frenchman’s injury is indeed minor and that he is back in the team against Arsenal.
