Luke Amos has now officially joined Queens Park Rangers, transferring permanently from Tottenham Hotspur after graduating from the Lilywhite academy.
Some Spurs fans have taken to Twitter in order to voice their support for the 23-year-old, while pointing out how unfortunate the timing of his latest injury was.
Amos impressed during the 2018 pre-season tour under Mauricio Pochettino, before making his Premier League debut against Newcastle at the start of the subsequent campaign.
However, just one month into the new season, Amos picked up a nasty ACL injury which kept him out of action for over a year.
When he eventually returned, he was sent out on loan to Queens Park Rangers in order to gain some much-needed minutes on the pitch. He eventually racked up 35 appearances and two goals across the campaign in the Championship for QPR (Wikipedia).
Some fans were eager to point out what could have been when Spurs announced the transfer on social media this afternoon.
Shame how his career ended here, was absolutely class in pre season and then had such a bad injury. Best of luck @Luke_Amos1

The ACL injury was unfortunate, could have been in the first team for us

Announce Eze coming the other way? Isn't that how this works this summer?
And then, once we loan Skipp to Norwich we sign Aarons in return.
I see a pattern here.

Shame. When Pochettino gave him his debut, I thought he could go on and become a 1st team player. He looked calm, composed and full of promise. That injury really set him back, so unfortunate. Glad to see him getting a move and hopefully he can kick on again. Good luck Luke!!

Really gutted about this one, honestly. Who knows what would’ve happened without the major injury he had. Best of luck @Luke_Amos1?
