Sol Campbell delivers rare verdict on Tottenham with positive Thomas Frank review

Tottenham are starting to look like the real deal under Thomas Frank, and even Sol Campbell appears to have taken notice of the progress being made in north London.

It has most definitely been a solid start to life in the Premier League this season for Thomas Frank, who only took charge of Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

The Dane has brought a major turnaround in results on the pitch, with Tottenham unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions.

Spurs have lost just once in the Premier League this season and look a far more convincing side than the one that finished 17th last term.

Sol Campbell praises Tottenham’s strong start under Thomas Frank

And while Sol Campbell stopped short of suggesting that Spurs could be in the title conversation, the former defender was full of praise for what he has seen so far from the club he left 24 years ago in controversial fashion.

Tottenham currently sit third in the Premier League table, only two points behind league leaders Arsenal after seven matches.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Campbell said Thomas Frank has brought a positive change to the team’s footballing style and mentality.

“I think he’s made a really good, positive start, a fresh approach to the game,” he said. “Came close against PSG in the Super Cup final, just lost on penalties against them.

“Really top football, he’s playing with fresh eyes upon it, and maybe he’s doing something simple in the sense that he’s allowing players just to be a bit more free.

“Maybe he’s taking a bit more pressure on him and less pressure on the players. I think it’s been a great start for them. It’s early, who knows what’s going to happen, but the main thing is, it’s positive.”

Tottenham fans have plenty to be optimistic about

Of course, it is still early days, but Tottenham fans certainly have reasons to be optimistic about what they are seeing.

Spurs look like a far more resilient side, and even in games where they have fallen behind, they have shown the mentality to fight back and salvage points.

A lot can still be improved, but with Thomas Frank instilling steel and belief in his squad, Tottenham can continue to make steady progress under the Dane.
