‘Some day’ – Spurs-linked striker expresses interest in Premier League move

Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Jonathan David has admitted that he is open to a move to the Premier League.

Todofichajes reported last week that Tottenham are mulling over whether to make a move for the Lille striker and have been watching him in action for Canada at the World Cup.

The 22-year-old headed into the tournament having scored nine goals in fifteen appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season (transfermarkt) but failed to find the back of the net in Qatar after Canada finished bottom of Group F without a victory to their name.

David admitted that the Premier League is the best domestic competition in the world and has ambitions of playing in England ‘some day’ in the future.

GiveMeSport claimed last month that along with Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton are both also keen on the forward.

David told The Sun: “The Premier League is the best league in the world and every player would want to play there some day.

“I have been focused on trying to enjoy the World Cup and enjoy the moment. What happens now I do not know, we will see.”

Tottenham’s priority has to be Harry Kane’s contractual situation, however, the club will be shrewd enough to have other attacking options lined up for the future should the England captain decide against putting pen to paper on a new deal.
