Some fans fume at Levy as player Spurs missed out on continues to impress

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans still cannot get over the fact that the club failed to get a deal for Bruno Fernandes over the line last summer.

Fernandes was heavily linked with a move to Spurs last year (Evening Standard), with the Portuguese international even revealing his disappointment at the transfer falling through at the time (Record).

United swooped for the 25-year-old in the January transfer window with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side paying a reported £67.6million to bring him to Old Trafford.

He has since admitted that he came close to completing a move to North London.

The midfielder has certainly hit the ground running in the Premier League and has put in a number of impressive displays since arriving at United.

He has begun where he left off since the restart as he continues to show his technical quality, inventiveness and energy.

Fernandes was once again the star of the show for United in their 3-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday with the midfielder netting a brace.

Fans seem to forget that we were only ever going to sign one of either Giovani Lo Celso or Fernandes last summer. I believe we made the right choice in eventually going for Lo Celso, although he is a different sort of player to the Manchester United star, who seems more deadly in the final third.
