Tottenham Hotspur were last night linked with a surprising move for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale (Marca).
Some Spurs fans have this morning taken to Twitter after the club posted a Tweet wishing the Welshman a happy birthday after he turned 30.

The supporters have certainly taken the opportunity to reply to the Tweet with their thoughts surrounding the transfer speculation which has been subsequently labelled as ‘rubbish’ this morning by his agent Jonathan Barnett in a statement issued to talkSPORT.
Bale has enjoyed great success in Spain since his then world record £89.2million transfer for Tottenham in 2013 where he has won the Champions League on four occasions.
If there was any chance of a potential return to North London, his eye-watering weekly wage which is said to be £600,000 (Mirror) means that the vast majority of clubs cannot simply afford to pay a player this sort of salary compared to the rest of their squad.#

Surely we will look to persue other targets especially a cb, a backup striker and a midfielder instead of splashing the cash on him when we all know he has past his prime.

We know what you’re doing and we LOVE IT
