Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need of an in-form central defender at the moment after conceding in the first five minutes yet again this weekend.
Once one of the best pairings in world football, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld look out of sorts in the 2019/20 campaign, with Tottenham recording just three wins from 12 games.
Davinson Sanchez has also been in and out of the time, taken off at halftime against the hornets, while Juan Foyth has only just returned from injury and was deployed at right-back for Argentina last week.
With Jan and Toby set to leave the club on free transfers in the summer, Pochettino may be forced to look elsewhere for centre-backs next season.
Could the answer already be at the club though?
Some Stoke City fans have been raving about on-loan Cameron Carter-Vickers this week after his man of the match performance against Fulham in a 2-0 win at home.
I personally thought Carter-Vickers was MOTM. Solid & composed at the back, bloody love it #scfc

Carter-Vickers should've been part of every camp in the past 8 months

Is there an option to recall Cameron Carter-Vickers in January. Surely can’t do any worse that Jan looks right now.

To be fair Carter-Vickers was outstanding but I do think Gregory deserved it.
Both Batth and Carter-Vickers were rocks.
