Tottenham Hotspur and fans of the club would have been glad to see Jack Clarke start a match for Leeds United last night after the talented young winger did not feature for the club’s first two games of the season.
Clarke started on the wing against Salford City in the Carabao Cup, a game in which Leeds scored three without reply to secure safe passage into the next round.
The 18-year-old impressed during the back end of last season, but this will be his first campaign as a first-team regular in the Championship.
He will be hoping for a good season if he expects Pochettino to put faith in him in the Premier League from 2020 onwards.
Spurs signed Clarke from Leeds for around £10m his summer, before loaning him straight back to the Championship club in a move that benefitted all three parties (BBC).
However, Clarke received a mixed reception on Twitter after his performance last night.
