One man who has had his fair share of critics this season is Tottenham skipper Hugo Lloris. The Frenchman had a poor start to the campaign after winning the World Cup with France last summer and made several errors which led to goals.

Some Spurs fans even called for Paulo Gazzaniga to replace the 32-year-old as the club’s first choice goalkeeper. However, the Tottenham captain once again proved his critics wrong as he was in stellar form towards the end of the season.

The former Lyon man’s heroics played an important part in Tottenham’s progression to the finals of the Champions League. Lloris continued his rich vein of form as France traveled to Turkey last night for a Euro 2020 qualifier.

Although the world champions were beaten 2-0 through goals from Kaan Ayhan and Cengiz Under, the scoreline could have been much worse for the visitors if not for some of Lloris’ brilliant stops.

Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to his performance against Turkey:

While Lloris does have a mistake in him from time to time, he has proved over the years that he more than makes up for those errors by producing world-class saves.

He has had to deal with a lot of critics throughout his career, but there is no doubt that he is the best goalkeeper the club has had in the Premier League era.
