Some may have missed Cesc Fabregas paying huge compliment to Spurs on Saturday

Tottenham Hotspur have been on an incredible Champions League journey this season, even if they did fall at the final hurdle on Saturday night.

Spurs went into the game off the back of victories against Borussia Dortmund, Man City, and Ajax, but Liverpool proved to be a step too far.

Before the match kicked off at 8 pm on Saturday, both sets of players gathered around the centre circle to pay their respects to former Arsenal player Jose Antonio Reyes after he was tragically killed in a car accident.

Tottenham also classily replied to Arsenal’s message on Twitter, offering their condolences and support after the untimely death of one of their own.

Despite a patchy history between Cesc Fabregas and Tottenham Hotspur, with the Spaniard playing for both London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, he was impressed by Spurs’ gesture.

He then returned the favour by tweeting a ‘hats off’ to Spurs for reaching the Champions League final.
