Some Tottenham Hotspur fans will still be recovering from their capitulation against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, when the club threw away a lead to lose 7-2.
As if the humiliating result wasn’t bad enough, an ex-Arsenal player, Serge Gnabry, managed to score four goals against his old rivals.
Gnabry was named in the latest Germany squad that came up against Argentina in an international friendly last night.
Also on show was Tottenham’s very own Juan Foyth, a player who was not involved at the new stadium for the Bayern match.
Foyth missed the game through injury after picking up a knock in pre-season, and has still yet to play a single minute for the Lilywhites.
Despite this lack of fitness and sharpness, and just returning from an injury, Foyth played all 90 minutes against the Germans last night, coming face to face with Spurs nemesis Gnabry.
Some Arsenal and Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter:
When foyth met gnabry vs aurier against him ?☕ pic.twitter.com/wVtj4KQbK7

Foyth totally shut down Gnabry there ?

Foyth been very good. Remember Gnabry was at your club and you sold him for 4m. I wouldn’t want to hear the mere mention of his name. You do know he’s a different level of a player to one you’ve just bought for 75m.

Foyth must hate Gnabry

What kind of stupid tweet is this.
You sold Gnabry for 4m FFS. As for as Foyth, he had a brilliant game overall— arunSpurs (@arunspurs) October 9, 2019
Foyth is Spurs player, getting slapped by Gnabry. No escape from him

Gnabry so scared of Foyth he had to swap sides to score

Gnabry now tearing Argentina defence (including Foyth) apart

I think Foyth is just lucky no serious attacks have come down his side. If Gnabry wasn’t offside that time, he’d been ripped apart tbh ?

Gnabry has both a goal and an assist for Germany in just over 22 minutes of football against Argentina.
He must have seen Foyth at right back and thought he was still playing Spurs. Silly Serge!#GERARG

Juan Foyth, this time was unable to evade a Spurs nightmare named Serge Gnabry!
